CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

All exhibits must be the original work of the exhibitor who must be a resident of Australia. Works exhibited in previous Sorrento Art Shows will not be accepted. No hand painted copies of paintings, imported or otherwise, will be accepted for exhibition.  No more than 5 exhibits will be accepted from any one exhibitor unless authorised by the Committee.

ENTRY FORMS

Entry to our show is by Invitation Only. We need to restrict the number of entries as we have limited hanging space and no painting storage facilities.

For our March 2021 Show Covid 19 precautions have forced us to impose further restrictions on participating artist numbers. This means that entry forms will not be generally available and only a small number of our usual artists, selected at random, will receive an entry form. The Art Show committee apologizes for this situation and we sincerely hope that our 2022 show will be back to normal.

Participating artists must ensure that their entry information reaches the Committee by 21 February 2021.

SIZE OF EXHIBITS

  • One painting may be up to 1.5 sq m
  • One other painting may be up to 1.2 sq m
  • Other paintings must be less than 1 sq m

ENTRY FEES

  • All paintings, irrespective of size, $10 each

The exhibitor shall pay the Committee 25% of the sale price of any exhibit sold at or as a result of the exhibition which the Committee shall apply in defraying of expenses of the exhibition and for charitable purposes.

Judging for Awards

All works submitted will be eligible for judging.

additional information

If the exhibit is a painting it must be on durable material, framed with FLUSH HANGERS. Flush Hangers are those which do not protrude when paintings are stored. Eye hooks are not acceptable as these can cause damage to other works. Oil/acrylic paintings on canvas unframed but ready for hanging will be accepted. Each exhibit must contain some form of identifying label with the exhibit title, artist name and selling price.

The Committee may arrange for, and the exhibitor permit, the publication and sale to the public of a catalogue containing all entries accepted and the names and other particulars of the exhibitors, but the Committee does not accept any responsibility for error, wrong description, omission or any other defect in the publication of such catalogue.

The proceeds of sale of the catalogues are exclusively those of the Committee,  to be applied by it in defraying the expenses of the exhibition and for charitable purposes.  Acceptance of entries and display of exhibits shall be at the sole discretion of the Committee which reserves the right to refuse any entry or refuse to display an exhibit.

All prices to include GST where applicable.  Artists must include their GST status with their return.

The exhibitor shall permit the photographing of his or her exhibit and the publication of such photograph in any newspaper, magazine, periodical or other media with due acknowledgement to the artist.

Delivery to the show

All exhibits for which an entry has been made must be delivered to the ART SHOW RECEIVING OFFICE in the SORRENTO COMMUNITY CENTRE on Monday 1st March between 1 pm and 5pm, Tuesday 2nd March/Wednesday  3rd 2021 between 9 am and 5 pm in suitable condition for display.

The above delivery times may be extended to 10 pm each evening by calling ph 0432 420 226.

Any damage or loss of any exhibit howsoever and whenever whilst in transit, in storage or otherwise shall be the sole responsibility of the exhibitor. The Committee will take every care of exhibits but does not accept any responsibility for any such damage or loss and advises exhibitors to insure against damage or loss.

The exhibitor must collect his or her unsold exhibits after the close of the exhibition between 9 am and 5 pm on Tuesday 9th March as no storage facilities are available after this time.

These times may be extended to 10 pm by calling ph 0432 420 336.

If the exhibitor authorises an agent to collect unsold exhibits this authority must be in writing addressed to the Rotary Club of Sorrento lnc., signed by the exhibitor and contain the specimen signature of the agent.

Once you have entered and paid your entry fee you are welcome to email your works (jpeg or pdf file) to ntbriggs@bigpond.com with a brief description of the painting.
